Massage Therapist

Job Summary:
Provide individualized massage therapy services to patients on service with Minnesota Hospice. With a focus on pain management, relaxation, and overall comfort by utilizing gentle techniques tailored to their specific needs as deemed appropriate by members of the care team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide massage therapy services according to each patient’s individualized care plans
- Conduct patient assessment to determine appropriate treatment and effectiveness
- Perform massage therapy to alleviate symptoms and promote relaxation and comfort
- Observe and report pertinent patient informationand changes in condition to the care team
- Maintain accurate patient records within 24 hours of each session
- Provides educational information to members of the care team in order to facilitate referrals and promote the utilization of music therapy as an intervention
- Seek feedback from the care team regarding the efficiency of the intervention and utilize this information to make appropriate modifications and plans for ongoing services
- Provide information to manager regarding program development and direction
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of appropriate HIPAA and confidentiality
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Able to work as both a part of a team and independently
- Possesses great organizational Skills
- Excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products i.e. Excel, Word, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Current Certification as a Massage Therapist
- Minimum of 2 year music therapy experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Able to regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
- May have prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Personal protective equipment provided, including masks
