Veterans have unique medical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. Our hospice care focuses on understanding and helping each veteran meet his or her personal goals by providing a variety of choices. This care is delivered by an extensive interdisciplinary team to ensure we honor the veterans’ needs and wishes.
We recognize the many sacrifices made by the families of veterans. Our hospice care teams provide families with emotional and spiritual support, help with decision-making and connection to resources.
Trained veteran volunteers bring their military experiences to their hospice work. Through a shared common language and cultural bond, veteran volunteers provide a great deal of support to veteran patients and their families.
We acknowledge the service of veterans in our care by presenting personalized Minnesota Hospice certificates and a flag pin to families.
Minnesota Hospice is a partner of the We Honor Veterans (WHV) program. We are committed to WHV’s mission of respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment of the veterans we serve. By partnering with the VA, veteran service organizations and other community partners, we are able to provide an array of specialized programs and services that honor and support our veterans.
